We had such a nice day today, a birthday in the house, a little boy turning 5. He started his morning with a pile of presents, and opened one... then a while later another.... and finally the last. As Dad left for work he was engrossed {with Mum at his side} building his first ever lego kit ~ a limousine. He enjoyed a morning at kinder with his friends, and handed out chupa-chups at the end. Came home and ate a good lunch before sitting down to another session of lego building, this time a helicopter... later in the day we made cake, which was finished just in time to serve up {with a song of course} after dinner.

He went to bed a very happy 5 year old.

Happy Birthday Angus, thank-you for such a lovely day.

See, you really do build houses in the mud.

under construction

all hands on deck

'house' building

It may look like a lot of mud and mess to me, but to them?... they are "building a house", right in the middle of the mud {"just like grandpa!"}

It's what childhood memories are made of. Right!?!

delivered by little, muddy, hands

treasures

... and while they were out vandalising my driveway, the postie arrived with this sweet little package ~ hand delivered inside to me with much excitement {by little muddy hands}... thanks so much Kristi, I enjoyed our impromptu swap!

to adore

Truly, I just adore this child. Such a sweet, funny, easy little one she is... but oh my, I really do wish that she would start sleeping through the night!

Daisy's Tiny Tea Leaves

Tiny Tea Leaves

Daisy's Tiny Tea Leaves is finally finished. It was such an easy knit, and the yoke and body knit up so quickly, then I ran out of time and the sleeves seemed to take f.o.r.e.v.e.r... then it sat finished with just the ends to be weaved in and the buttons sewn on, for, well weeks really.

I wasn't idle though, I was knitting up a matching beanie...

You can check out the details on my ravelry or check out some more photos here.

outside

outside

On Friday afternoon I finally found the time to attach some 'gutter guard' to the bottom part of the balcony railing ~ making it safe for little folk to play outside. I am yet to add the gate, but in the meantime the cubby house is blocking the gap sufficiently enough for Mia to finally be allowed to play 'outside'.

I have plans to make a baby-play-space on the balcony, just as soon as funds allow.

In the meantime, it was nice to see her playing outside with her siblings, enjoying some winter sunshine.
