home style

It is no secret that I intensely dislike Summer. I don't like the hot weather, it saps my energy, sends me scurrying inside to the shade {and later in the day, the stifling heat} You just can not escape hot weather.

However, this year I have discovered that if you add some cold water, then it can be a little more bearable... in fact, after taking an hour long dip in a friends beautiful pool last week, I think I could be persuaded to like summer. Maybe not this year, but definitely as the kids get older and more able. Maybe then. Maybe.

Thankfully, I have people in my life who don't share my defeatist attitude [in relation to hot weather] and do cool things, like rig up a home-style slip-and-slide. Awesome fun was had by all participants...

I hope that you are all finding ways to make this blasting heat a little more bearable...

I'm with you. I'm definitely not a summer person. Sydney has had a VERY mild (rainy) summer. Everyone is whinging about it - not me though! A summer with the majority of days under 30 degrees suits me just fine...

I'm not a huge fan either but at the beach it was so lovely, VB catches all the cool breezes so I was shocked when we came home at how stiffling it was. I take a lot of cool showers and my hair is constantly out of control. Mix in frozen grapes, lots of cool drinks and it's a case of getting through.

Ah, summer and I have a love hate relationship! Can't stand the heat, and I really dislike how sluggish I feel right now- I normally walk a few km's a day, but no motivation to in the heat! I lived in Brisbane for 9 months- moved there on the 1st of December. Big mistake. Let's just say it was the most torturous, never ending summer of my life. Craved some cloudy skies once in a while! The things I love about summer are the ability to grow certain foods and flowers, and getting your washing dry on the line within a day or even half. Other than that, it sucks! I'm a redhead though (I think you might be too?), apparently we don't do well in the heat.

LOL Jo I think we need to swap countries, I love the heat, no really love it! Here in the UK we very rarely have days when we don't need a cardi even in the summer, oh but when we do it's bliss. See I'm a bit of a lizard!
